Safety

Neat essential oils are powerful and highly concentrated. Use only as directed, and follow these guidelines.

Never use essential oils undiluted on the skin
Never take any essential oils internally
Always keep essential oils out of reach of children, and away from eyes and pets
Keep bottles tightly closed and store in a cool, dark place
If you are pregnant, we recommend our pre-blended Natalia range
If you suffer from epilepsy, or are on a course of prescribed medication, we recommend that you seek the advice of a professional practitioner before using essential oils.
For children under six years old, use only two drops of essential oils in the bath, or diluted in 10 ml of base oil for massage.
Avoid exposure to the sun or sunbeds after using sweet orange or grapefruit essential oils on the skin.

How to use essential oils

Essential oils can be used therapeutically in various ways, including baths, inhalations, massage and vaporisation.

We have included some simple recipes here to help you choose the Vital Touch pure essential oils that are right for you.

Baths
First make sure that the door and windows are closed to ensure the aroma does not escape. Run your bath and then add up to 6 drops of Vital Touch pure essential oils. Swish the water thoroughly to disperse them before you step in. Relax for at least 10 minutes, inhaling and enjoying the aroma.

Revitalising: 4 drops grapefruit, 2 drops geranium OR 3 drops rosemary, 3 drops sweet orange
Relaxing: 4 drops lavender, 2 drops ylang ylang OR 3 drops sandalwood, 3 drops geranium

Foot baths
Add 5 drops of Vital Touch pure essential oils to a bowl of warm water, and swish well. Soak feet for up to 10 minutes.

For tired feet: 2 drops rosemary, 3 drops lavender OR 3 drops ginger, 2 drops eucalyptus

Massage
Massage is one of the most popular ways of using essential oils, combining the therapeutic properties of the oils with the benefits of massage. Add up to 6 drops of Vital Touch pure essential oils per 10 ml of Vital Touch base massage oil in a bottle or shallow dish. Mix well and use this for your massage.

Muscle rub: 3 drops eucalyptus, 2 drops ginger, 1 drop lavender
Relaxing: 4 drops lavender 2 drops sandalwood

Vaporisation
You can use an aromatherapy burner or an Aroma Stone to vaporise oils into the atmosphere. This can help you relax or feel refreshed and revitalised, depending on your choice of oils. Use up to 8 drops of Vital Touch pure essential oils, or 3 capfuls of a Vital Touch vaporising blend

Relaxing: 5 drops lavender, 3 drops ylang ylang
Cheering and uplifting: 5 drops orange, 3 drops rosemary

Inhalations
Steam inhalations can be very useful when you have a cold. Add up to 8 drops of pure essential oils to a basin or bowlful of very hot water. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and inhale the vapours for up to 10 minutes, (until the steam runs out)

Clearing: 4 drops eucalyptus, 2 drops lavender, 2 drops tea tree
